If field 24 (type approval) on your vehicle registration certificate shows IVI or IVIX, it means the vehicle was individually approved. To search for this type of vehicle on SwissCarInfo, use the registration number (field 18 of the vehicle registration certificate) in the format XXX.XXX.XXX (9 digits, soon 12 with an additional .XXX). This number allows you to find the corresponding technical data sheet.

Yes, you can search for a vehicle by its VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), also known as the chassis number. It is field 23 on the vehicle registration certificate. Simply enter the full VIN (17 characters) in the search bar. Our system will automatically identify the corresponding vehicle in the FEDRO database.

The European approval number (EU-Typgenehmigung) follows the format eX*YYYY/ZZ*NNNN*EE:

• eX = Country code of approval (e1=Germany, e2=France, e4=Netherlands, e9=Spain, e11=United Kingdom, e13=Luxembourg...)
• YYYY/ZZ = European directive or regulation (e.g. 2007/46 = framework directive for vehicle approval)
• NNNN = Base approval number assigned by the authority
• EE = Extension (revision, variant or modification)

Example: e1*2007/46*2066*10 = vehicle approved in Germany (e1), under directive 2007/46, base number 2066, extension 10.
